NEXT WEEK SAILING WILL BE ON SUNDAY 29TH JANUARY & WE WILL RE-SAIL THE FIRST MOMBASA CUP (AS THE FIRST ONE HAD TO BE ABANDONED) BY FINISHING THE RACE AT A LINE BETWEEN EITHER THE TAMARIND DHOW BUOY (OR A RESCUE BOAT & THE CATAMARAN OFF TAMARIND VILLAGE. WE WILL THEN START THE SECOND RACE BACK TO THE CLUB FROM THE SAME LINE AFTER BEING SERVED DRINKS COURTESY OF THE COMMODORE FROM THE RESCUE BOAT. FIRST START 3PM AS USUAL & I SUGGEST THE 420’S TAKE THE FIRST START FOLLOWED BY THE LASERS AT 3.05PM THIS TIME. IF ANY BOSUNS OR OSPREYS WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART PLEASE LET ME KNOW & I WILL RE-ARRANGE THE START TIMES. PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO PHONE IDI WELL IN ADVANCE & DEFINITELY BEFORE NOON ON SUNDAY TO RIG YOUR BOAT, AS HE WILL STOP RIGGING AT 2.30PM IN ORDER TO SET THE START BUOY & LIASE WITH THE CONTROL TOWER & THE SECOND RESCUE BOAT IN TUDOR CREEK.
After talking to the active sailors the general conscensus is that we should go back to sailing on Sundays & scrap the trial we have been doing this season of sailing on Saturdays. Can I have the views of those of you who don’t sail very often as well please.
Best regards – Commodore
